Some things we love about May Day 2013
May Day 2013! 3 new designs, two parks, and at least 200 prints later, our squeegees smelled like burned rubber and there were sea of black cats in the crowd. May Day is like a birthday for the OWS Screenprinters. And we get to celebrate with all of our favorite friends!

Playing Ball with the Tax Dodgers
It’s tax season again. Let’s put off doing those returns for a brief game of baseball between the 99% and the Tax Dodgers, that nefarious baseball team that goes to bat for the 1%. They’ve proclaimed themselves the best team in the world because, in their words, “we own the league, pay off the referees, rig the game, and edit the scoreboard. In short, we are number 1. And by that we mean...

"Occupy Wall Street is so yesterday" - overheard...
A young, 20-something woman walked by our booth at the Green Festival last weekend and dismissed us: “Occupy Wall Street…that’s so yesterday”. Boy, do we have our work set out for us. So much modern cultural zeitgeist has an expiration date of yesterday. Perhaps a result of all of last fall’s Occupy trending moments on twitter and other social networking platforms...

Adventures in Anti-Retail: Occupying the NYC...
It was our first big, big event. We partnered with Occuprint and OWS Sustainability for thee convention of the eco friendly green party crowd. All the household name ecoproducts, all the celebrity speakers, the big shiny monstrosity that is Javits Center… we were certainly moving up from our days of sidewalk screenprinting.
Our co-op prepared for weeks. We had hours of meetings, and put...

OWS Screen Printers Coop in Adbusters
The OWS Screen Printers Coop was mentioned in the March/April edition of Adbusters. Get your copy and check us out in the article by Nicole Demby of OWS Arts and Culture. In it, Nicole discusses worker cooperatives and solidarity economies.
nightmaresofsocrates asked: Hey, just wanted to say I like the idea of what you're doing a lot, and don't get discouraged! I would of been beyond excited if I got a chance to snag a free patch, those people are missing out. Keep up what you're doing! Very cool. :)

Live Printing Front and Central in Union Square
Today we (Steve, Paul, and David) set up to live print in Union Square. Up until this weekend, the police and park security have required us to set up at the periphery of the park - technically outside the park on the sidewalk - where there are green medallions indicating it’s “okay” to engage in free speech that requires a table. In New York City, art is a legally protected form...
